Desktop app

Put the front desk on the desktop

The full LodgeDesk, installed on the reception computer. Same login, same data — in its own window, with offline booking, native printing and automatic updates.

Finding the latest version…
Why install it

Everything the browser version does, plus what a browser can't

Its own window

No more hunting for the right browser tab mid check-in. LodgeDesk sits in the taskbar, Dock or app launcher like any other program on the machine.

Keeps working offline

Reservations and POS sales carry on when the internet drops. Everything queues on the computer and syncs the moment the connection is back.

Proper printing

Invoices, receipts and reports go straight to the native print dialog — including thermal receipt printers attached to the front desk.

Desktop notifications

New bookings, WhatsApp messages and housekeeping updates surface as system notifications, even when the window is behind something else.

Shortcuts to everywhere

Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+7 jump to Front Desk, Reservations, Room Map, POS, Invoices, Housekeeping and Reports.

Updates itself

New versions download quietly in the background and install the next time the app restarts. Nobody has to reinstall anything.

Installing

What to expect the first time

Windows

Run the .exe and follow the installer. Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen the first time — click More info, then Run anyway. That warning appears until the app has been downloaded enough times for Microsoft to recognise it.

macOS

Open the .dmg and drag LodgeDesk into Applications. On first launch, right-click the app and choose Open rather than double-clicking it — that gives you an Open button on the security prompt.

Linux

The AppImage runs as-is once you mark it executable (chmod +x). On Debian and Ubuntu the .deb installs with sudo apt install ./LodgeDesk-*.deb and adds LodgeDesk to your application menu.

Signing in

Use the same email and password as the website. The desktop app is included in every plan — there is nothing extra to buy or activate.

System requirements: Windows 10 or later (64-bit), macOS 11 Big Sur or later, or a 64-bit Linux desktop. Roughly 400 MB of disk space and an internet connection for the first sign-in.

Don't want to install anything?

You never have to. LodgeDesk works in any modern browser, on any device, with the same features — the desktop app is a convenience, not a requirement.
